2009 Fashion Trendsetters

As this year comes to an end, I was recalling the fashion trendsetters who took the fashion world by storm and whose vision permeated though the High Street globally.

Balmain has got to be the winner – high-shouldered jackets and studded accessories appeared in every store like mushrooms after the rain. And who would have thought that harem pants could look so glamorous!
Canadian twin duo Dsquared2 has got to be second on my list: I loved their mix of punk rock and evening wear. Boyfriend jackets, vests and leggings were in!

Last but not least, French designer Isabel Marant singlehandedly brought casual chic back on the scene. Animal prints, tweed jackets, faux fur vests and studded booties could be found all over the High Street!

For 2010 it looks like we are moving away from Glamazon to more romantic and serene spring looks. I will definitely be keeping my studded accessories (a pair of Dsaqured2 studded sling-backs among others :)) for many more seasons to come!
