Ok ladies – its Sales time and time for lots of decisions to be made. Here are my picks of the best Sales got to offer! I concentrated on investment pieces - each of the below items is not contrived by seasonal trend (well maybe a little )P).
The best Sale sites (30 - 50% discount):
http://www.theoutnet.com/
http://www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/content/sale/content
http://www.my-wardrobe.com/sale/discount
http://www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/sale
http://www.bunnyhug.co.uk/fashionshop/gbu0-display/designer-fashion-sale
enjoy!
P.S. for those of you based in Dublin:
Harvey Nichols is reselling bags which were not shifted during last season’s sale, but shoe selection is quite good (Alexander McQueen & Jimmy choo pumps would be the highlight).
Brown Thomas: Sale bags and shoes are one pity sight this season. I suggest 3rd floor brands Selected, Pinko and Philip Lim Sale section J

Fixation of the Month: LV Leopard Stole

Style Hit or Miss: Leopard Print
I gotta warn you, Alexa - with her kooky fashion sense - will be gracing a lot of my ‘MISS’ sections. Once in a while, Alexa hits a home-run by mixing and matching clothes in unthinkable ways. The one above wouldn’t be one of her masterpieces! My advice - ditch the bag PRESTO!
You would think that being dressed in leopard print head to toe would appear tacky… Not in this little number by Bluemarine. This dress is breathtaking and I suspect would make many body shapes look good.

Aliona Doletskaya to be the next editor of American Vogue?

I once heard an old Chinese proverb which roughly translates into: ‘in times of need, buy a loaf of bread and a flower". To me this flower has always been a copy of Vogue. In recent years, I admit, I lost touch with the US and UK editions....or maybe Vogue has lost touch with me? Among other things..Vogue became irrelevant and completely out of touch with the woman of today. It is the likes of Grazia and Marie Claire that are offering the right mix of reality and fashion fantasy!
Anna Wintour is due to retire next year and rumour has it that the editors of French and Russian Vogue Carine Roitfeld and Aliona Doletskaya are the two favourites to replace the infallible Anna. Here are my reasons for why Aliona should be the next editor-in-chief of American Vogue – a.k.a. the mothership ;):
1) Unlike her counterparts in other editions, Aliona has not lost touch with the REAL woman – she knows the difference between aspirational and unattainable and avoids the latter.
2) I actually read Russian Vogue from cover to cover: it’s opinionated, smart and edgy!
3) She’s the mastermind behind the most creative fashion charity event of the decade: Russian Matreshka- Designer auction (SOOOO WANT ONE OF THOSE!)
4) She is one tough and intelligent cookie with a Ph.D. in comparative linguistics from Moscow State University.
5) Lastly, in times of recession the world needs an injection of over-the-top Eastern Glamour – it’s on the streets of Moscow that you see effortless chic, and only in Russia can a woman look fabulous in a mink coat covered in embroidered flowers! I say bring it on!

Style Hit or Miss: Peekaboo trend

MISS: Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu
I have to admit, I was never a fan of Chloe Sevigny's style. I do applaud her courage to take risks with fashion...but in my eyes, more often than not she misses the point. This Miu Miu outfit is a good example - although I do love each piece separately, the whole ensemble just doesn't work.

Blog Review: GOOP.com
Checking out the latest posts on Goop and Sartorialist are among my daily Must-Dos! Goop is Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle blog. She writes about everything: her travel, fashion, food, and even her favorite shopping sites. Her latest post was about trip to Morocco, for which she gives plenty of tips on where to go, to stay and eat. Paltrow's blog is very clever, personable and so very fashionable! Lala gives 5 out of 5 stars!

Most Wanted: Karen Walker’s mixed print dress and Vanessa Bruno’s grey dress. There is a good selection of Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania pieces: the toga skirt is really funky!
