Banana Republic' s Spring/Summer 2010 collection nailed every seasonal trend possible. My fav pieces would have to be the blue Kanga dress and grey satin skirt. The above clogs retail for $98 and are super comfortable, not to mention very fabulous. I'm just waiting for the day Banana Republic decides to open a store in Dublin...its about time really!
Blumarine dress and Comme des Garcons shoulder pads Proenza Schouler dress
The Warrior Way photoshoot for March Vogue has got to be my favorite this year. True to herself, Grace Goddington created a magical world where Daria Werbowy's armor consists of McQueen & Balenciaga outfits. Very Fashionably Fierce!
I've already blogged about this fabulous one-shoulder LBD by Twenty8Twelvelast month. It's further marked down at Matches, but I found a substitute - one-shoulder LBDs from Miss Selfridge. There are two versions of these in stores now: bodycon (pictured above) and babydoll. Both have this amazing ruffle detail - which looks stunning in real life!
A Single Man was such a treat this evening! As this was Tom Ford's directorial debut, I was expecting a beatiful movie. I have to say, it was so much more than that. A Single Man is a love story told without pretentiousness and cliches, just like it is. It's heartbreaking and witty. Colin Firth's performance is amazing and very Oscar worthy.
If this movie was a by-product of Tom Ford's midlife crisis, I wish everyone to go through such metamorphosis in their 40s. I cant wait to see more from him.
Mulberry Gypsy Love Necklace was on my wish list since last year. I finally tried it on at BTs today and was a little dissapointed: all the letters stacked up behind each other and it looked nothing like the picture above. As I walked into the nearest Topshop, I was happy to see a number of whimsical necklaces at a fraction of the price. The Swallow Anchor Heart necklace pictured above has the same effect as Mulberry for 1/14 of the price. It's a no brainer - I go with Topshop!
As I walked into H&M in San Francisco on Saturday, I fell into a time warp and woke up in Knits paradise. I was expecting good things from Sonia & H&M's collaboration but what I found was much much better! Above are my buys of the very best of this collection ;).
As an owner of Sonia Rykiel blazers and cardigans I was amazed at the quality of some of the items. My favourite was definitely the blazer and shorts combination. There was a choice of hot pink & black , but true to myself I picked black. To offset the dark colors, I also went all gaga for stripes! Stripy dress, top, scarf – you name it – I got it. Among some of the items I completely bypassed were the yellow crown sweater and babydoll dresses, which looked awful when I tried them on.
If you have not yet paid a visit to your nearest H&M – I strongly urge you to do so! I’m just hoping my office won’t turn into one big stripe fest after all this publicity….

Michael Kors, Chanel, Ralph Lauren RTW Spring/Summer 2010
Kristen Stewart in Chanel, Russell Brand, Kate Hudson in Marchesa, J Lo in Gucci
Gucci and Prada have collectively chosen white as the predominant color in their spring/summer ad campaigns. Chanel and Michael Kors runways were dominated by head-to-toe white. I don’t know if designers were trying to channel innocence but celebrities have definitely embraced this trend– even Russell Brand (Mr Innocence himself) jumped on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, I won’t be dressing in head-to-toe white in Dublin any time soon…unless of course I jet off to the Maldives...
Unfortunately this wacky little Proenza Shouler number didn’t work on Kristen. I don’t know if it’s the outfit itself or Kristen’s tough chick image that didn’t combine well. As a whole Kristen looks lost.
Hit:Whitney Port in Moschino Cheap and Chic Whitney mixed two different prints in the same color but different texture. It definitely worked. She managed to look elegant with an edge.
During my visit stateside last week, I could not get enough of Ann Taylor Loft costume jewellery. My favourite pieces were delicate turquoise chains and beautiful perplex tear drop necklaces (see through Perspex accessories are definitely in this Spring/Summer– as seen with Prada shoes and Fendi bags). Some of the above pieces reminded me of Gerard Yosca jewellery. With prices starting at $29.50 I will vote for Loft jewellery any day!
Jean Paul Gautier’s collection for Target is coming out on March 7th and after seeing the lookbook I’m totally gutted! When this collaboration was first announced I gave it a wow factor of 4 out of 5 in my blog post…. That was way too optimistic! I now give it MINUS 4. Below are the only two looks that stood out. The rest is a total car crash. They should change the current ad tagline from “Legendary Parisian Designer meets American Pop Culture” to “60s pin up girl meets 80s Material Girl meets Harajuku girl and explodes". JPG must have some twisted view of American Pop Culture. You can see more of this disaster here.
