Best Alternative Christmas Party Outfits

Xmas parties are coming up and guess what most of our collegues will be wearing? you guessed right - same old same old party frocks! I must confess, I'm guilty of LBD snoozefest myself. What's worse, I don't think I've ever worn the same Xmas outfit twice. But this year I'm pushing the envelope and saving some money! I have a pair of YSLs Tribute sandals I snagged in a vintage store earlier this year, as well as a bejeweled clutch similar to the one below. Large cocktail ring is a must! Accessories taken care of, I thought of three fabulous alternatives to party frocks:

1. Silk jumpsuit and festive tuxedo

2. Sequin skirt with tucked-in silk tank top

3. Velvet tuxedo suit and leather bustier
Next velvet pants: $51; YSL leather bustier; D&G velvet tuxedo jacket: £655; YSL Tribute sandals as seen above

Each one of the above pieces can be reworn all year round, which makes them recession proof. If the above solutions don't appeal to you and you'd prefer to stick to dresses, I highly recommend to go for sparkly accessories like golden clutch and bejeweled/ studded hair bands. If you are going to buy a frock, try velvet or lace LBDs. I will let you know which look I go for :).
