Oddity of the Day: YSL Palais Mohawk Pumps

Tommy Ton's pic during Paris Fashion Week

if I was to parade in these shoes around the office or even on the streets of Dublin....I would be forever labeled as 'mental' which is probably the case already...(with labeling that is).
On the second thought, I can picture fashion editors and such having the chutzpah to pull these off...just not sure I would want to. After Chanel launched their ridiculous ice cube bag, YSL might as well follow with their Mohawk pumps....creepy.

Olivia Palermo as Tatler's Girl of the Year or my personal style muse

Olivia in Charlotte Olympia platforms

Olivia in Proenza Schouler booties

By now, anyone who reads my blog regularly would know how much I adore Olivia Palermo's style! Just today I saw her on the cover of October Tatler titled Olivia Palermo: Girl of the Year. I don't know about the girl of the year, but she is definitely my personal fashion favorite! Olivia like no one else combines and recycles her outfits and puts a different spin each time. Case in point: Olivia rocking Proenza Schouler booties and Charlotte Olympia platforms with three different outfits, each looking fabulous!

Oddity of the Year: Mischa Barton and her Bowler hat

Mischa has been sporting her bowler hats for sometime now. I was never a big fan of her style, especially the hats. In the past month, she appeared at an event wearing this oversized bowler hat which just didn't go with her outfit. I get that she is going for her unique look, or maybe trying to get paparazzi attention from a mile away...anyhow Mischa's hat is a definitive oddity!

Kara Ross New Collection

I'm in love with Kara Ross new collection! It has a bit of armour/warrior vibe to it and I soooo soooo want the hematite claw horn ring! If you don't live stateside and can't get this ring on Kara Ross official website, you can always go to Asos.com :).

Designer Spotlight: Brioni

Alessandro Dell'Acqua debuted his first collection at Brioni, fashion house renowned for their menswear. Collection as a whole has a much more feminine feel to it, yet retained its classic sharp tailoring. I especially loved the lace blouses and sleek blazers. If black & orange are the colors of fall & winter, white and orange seem to be the colors of choice for spring & summer collections - surprise surprise. Alessandro, along with D&G, Versace and many others all putting forth head-to-toe white looks for the next season.

Designer Collaboration Alert! Tucker for Target

Tucker capsule collection for Target is out this month and, as anticipated, I'm impressed. I picked my fav looks above. What's best: the price tag! You can own your signature flower print Tucker top for $29.99...not bad eh.

Micro Trend Alert: Flared Mini Skirt

we all got the message that midi is the new mini this fall/winter season, with Prada pioneering the granny chic and LV recycling the 50s. I'm noticing, however, a somewhat different micro trend: high-wasted flared mini skirts are being adopted by celebrities, Fashion Week goers and what is much more telling: there is a flared skirts galore at Zara this month! I got a piece of the action just the other day and snagged a gorgeous flared LBD and black flared skirt at Zara. I love the fact that this girly look is for summer and winter. I'll be wearing my skirt with chunky knits, black tights, t-shirts, vests...you name it!

Alexa Chung as a trendsetter, adopting the flared mini skirt long before everyone else. Ashley and Sienna followed.

hot new fashion app for iPhone

I'm adding a hot new iPhone app to my list of the best free fashion apps. Fashiongrub.com compiles fashion blogs, news and much more. Coco Perez blog would have to be the highlight. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, more importantly it's full of daily fashion/celebrity news.

I Want I Want I Want: Sam Edelman 'Lorissa' heels

I want these shoes really bad! I know I wont be able to walk in them as there is practically no platform, but these Sam Edelman peep toes are to die for! These shoes are so hot - even Tommy Ton snapped a pic during Milan Fashion week..;)

Oddity of the Day: Justin Bieber bed sheets

I'm really weirded out by the above Justin Bieber bed sheets and can only imagine teenage girls going all gaga for these. I mean, one thing is having posters of your fav celebrity plastered all over your walls, slightly different is having Bieber's face on your duvet. Very odd but as they say, where's the demand - there's the supply.

Out of all places, I first discovered Angel Jackson clutch bags at TK Maxx Limerick...... I grabbed two clutches 40 euro a pop for myself and my friend. The above bags are simple and classic! Love the furry one.

Hot Label Alert: Francesco Scognamiglio

I've discovered hot Italian label Francesco Scognamiglio . The highlights of his spring/summer 2011 collection were exaggerated see-through shoulders and delicate chiffon mini dresses. The above looks are simply stunning!

the 'It bags' of fall/winter 2010

1. Chloe Marcie

2. Mulberry Alexa

3. Celine Boston tote

A quick but expensive way to update your fall/winter wardrobe is to go for the It bag of the season. I'm not a fan of It bags, although I did buy oak Mulberry Alexa, thinking it will last more than one season. I picked the three bags worth splurging on this season, Chloe Marcie being the first. The other day I saw a friend of a friend carrying grey Marcie and was mighty impressed! Unlike most Chloe bags, Marcie is very practical and elegant. Alongside Bayswater, Mulberry Alexa has now become part of classic Mulberry range. I've already written about Celine Boston tote. As much as I like it, don't think this bag has lasting potential of Alexa, but will 100% update your wardrobe this season.
